Job Brief:
Responsible to prospect and develop relationships with group leaders so they make Group Travel Reservations with GTI. Actively prospect for new accounts and maximize sales potential through sales meetings, email marketing and telephone sales

Statement of Primary Responsibilities:
  1. B2B sales: Identify opportunities that result in market share growth, retention, new revenue growth and conversion growth.
  2. Identify prospects, customers, and referral sources while developing and maintaining  relationships to ensure attainment of company business goals.  Support efforts to consistently grow the base of group travel leaders.
  3. Ability to represent GTI in a multitude of presentations, seminars and education that promote the image of GTI as a leader in the Travel Industry.
  4. Develop marketing strategy in conjunction with management and the inside sales team, and identify joint marketing opportunities where applicable.
  5. Follows systems and procedures as outlined by the company.
  6. All other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Three- Five years’ experience in the group travel sales environment
  • Proven record of group travel sales  
  • Proven knowledge of and ability to cultivate relationships with group travel/tour professionals
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills and sales aptitude.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience required.   
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements.
  • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver.


SKILLS:
 
  • Must possess vast industry knowledge as it pertains to cruise lines, ships, and practices
    • Enthusiasm for contact-building, outbound calling, as well as the ability to develop relationships with existing customers
    • Must have excellent time management, interpersonal, computer, verbal/written communication, and project coordination skills.
    • Successful candidate can be self-directed, but will also be able to deliver results as part of a sales team
    • Must be PC proficient with working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position may require sitting for extended periods of time; roughly seven hours out of an eight hour day
  • Minimum physical qualifications must have acceptable eyesight and hearing with or without corrective aid

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Typical work week within an office setting.  May exceed forty (40) hours per work week to meet the needs of the organization.
