TRADITIONAL MOCHI "RICE CAKE" POUNDING FOR NEW YEAR
December 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Akiko’s Buddhist Bed and Breakfast in Wailea Hakalau will host the 13th annual mochi-tsuki celebration with traditional rice cakes for the New Year. Visitors can participate in pounding rice for good luck, eat a the local-style lunch for just $5, and take part in crafts, calligraphy and more. KAILUA-KONA CHRISTMAS PARADE
The seasonal parade begins at 5:00 p.m. at Kekuaokalani Gym in Kailua-Kona.
